You know those "Welcome to
Well, this morning, on a day trip today going up north then back towards the south for photography and culture reasons, I saw such a sign in Antipolo/Rizal (I still confuse these two) as we were driving up along the winding mountain path there: Welcome to Moron.
Huh?
Moron? And I said so, baffled, to my trip companions complete with the English pronunciation of it. The town's name is Moron?
While a trip companion laughingly rebuts me as soon as I said the above -
It's Morong! Silly girl!!
Me: Ay o nga pala.
:P
Hahahaha! :D
(I know what you're thinking right now too. :P lol!) And trip companion even stressed the name Morong with the proper Tagalog enunciation. Lol! Well, the last letter of the town name on the arch was obscured by some overgrowth of bushes on the side of the road. What can I say? :P Hehe!
It's like one of those "Cooking ng Ina Mo"/etc. funny Pinas tidbits that were forwarded via email. Wish I knew about this funny Welcome arch beforehand and took a photo of it.

- 2 pairs of sandals (one of which is espadrille-like and woven in abaca fibers or something),
- one wedge shoe pair (again with interwoven abaca especially on the wedge, like an espadrille),
- a cute little straw fan with different colors, and
- a "banig"(mat) made from "piƱa"/or pineapple materials supposedly (shown folded underneath the shoes), so it's cooler
All are really perfect for summer when overseas (like a balikbayan doing some hoarding... lol). Hehe! Didn't show anymore the partners of the shoes in the pic, too crowded. :P
